JOB SUMMARY: Consistent with my client’s Mission and Vision, the System Administrator is responsible for managing a Microsoft Windows network and will provide computer services support to a variety of geographically diverse locations throughout the companies enterprise. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to second level support to Helpdesk staff and PC users, installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of Active Directory based computer network and associated email and ancillary systems.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of AS in computer related field of study with two years of work experience as a Windows system administrator or supporting computer networks. Candidate should possess an MCSE or similar professional certification. Must have good troubleshooting skills. Must have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and Windows Server 2003. Working knowledge of Exchange 2003 or Exchange 2007 preferred. The individual must be able to work independently with minimal supervision or direction, manage multiple priorities, and be able to work in a cross-cultural environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must. Some experience managing vendors and complex support tickets preferred. This position requires excellent team participation skills and a self-motivated individual. Qualifying candidates must possess a valid CA driver’s license.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Customer Support: Extensive support of network computer services provided to customers as it relates to companies Headquarters, Disaster Recovery Hotsite, remote Distribution Centers, Contract Distribution Centers, Nurseries, office complexes and SOHOs; providing second level support for basic network connectivity and general PC support.

Technical Support: Advanced support of a complex Windows Server environment required. Experience with advanced DNS issues, LDAP queries, Terminal Server or Citrix environments preferred. Experience with Windows Server 2008 a plus. Some experience with scripting or Windows PowerShell strongly preferred. General understanding of TCP/IP, IP networking, and the OSI seven layer model is required. General understanding of network security issues and firewalls is preferred.

Analysis: Support the analysis and contribute with creative and original approaches to international network technology challenges and solutions. Candidate should expect to contribute to or participate in ad hoc analysis, reports and research generation as required by the position.
